Itinerary
Day 1: We begin our tour with pickup from your hotel, approximately 06:00 am to 07:00 am. After that we will go to our port to embark towards the Floating Islands of the Uros, where upon arriving at the first island we will recognize each one and the other islands, which we will visit throughout the tour, we will also know How they built these islands on the highest navigable lake in the world, our guide will explain the importance of these islands. Then we will go to the island of Amantaní. To reach the island of Amantaní it will take a maximum of 2 hours and 30 minutes of navigation, approximately 9 km during the trip, you will be able to observe a great variety of landscape beauty, as well as the chain of mountains (the Andes mountain range). In the main port of Amantani, the residents of the community will welcome us, and will begin to divide into groups so that the families are responsible for giving them all the attention, accommodation, food and company. During the afternoon you will have the option of going for a walk to one of the sacred mountains known as (Pachatata), this walk will begin under the coordination of our guide. Amantani also Known for the kindness of its people and for being the natural home of the Flor de la Cantuta, there are eight communities dedicated to terrace farming, sheep raising, and the artisanal production of textiles and stone carvings. You will spend the night on this beautiful island.
Day 2: After our typical breakfast we will continue to the next island of Taquile, the navigation will take 1 hour of travel. Most of the people of Taquile are very cooperative and well organized. It is the reason that the Taquileños have demonstrated their high degree of advancement in Textile Industry, receiving their award from UNESCO. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are done mainly by men, starting at the age of eight. The women make exclusively from yarns and fabrics. Life in Taquile is still largely unchanged by modernity. If you really want to be part of this community, you can voluntarily collaborate by buying some of their crafts. So that this community has some means of sustainability, in this way they can continue showing their existence to future travelers. Finally, our guide will inform them of the return time, arriving approximately 05:00 pm in the city of Puno.
